The Malone Laboratory studies how different copies of genes influence evolution. Using genomic, bioinformatic, and evolutionary approaches, our studies are providing new understanding for how copy number influences gene expression and evolution for understanding the ecology, behavior, and evolution of gene dosage. The Malone Laboratory is part of the exciting environment in the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology, Genetics and Genomics Group, and the Institute of Systems Genomics at the University of Connecticut.
